Outkast: The Playlist

Outkast: The Playlist

Screen Shot 2014-01-17 at 12.27.02 PMI’ve been on 10 since Outkast announced they were celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, by reuniting for over 40 festival performances. Upon hearing the news, I immediately began listening to Outkast’s entire catalog on repeat. While listening I remembered why I fell in love with their music. It was the unique dichotomy of Big Boi and Andre 3000, their ability to paint pictures and tell stories of inner city communities while enlightening and empowering their audiences, their blend of hip hop and soul and their undeniable lyrical genius. While indulging on Outkast’s music, I was remembered the greatness that was is the Dungeon Family, and in my head, I began building my perfect Outkast show. Thus, this playlist was born. Hopefully, you will enjoy it as much as I have. And as always, I’m open to your additions. Tweet them to @kiaspeaks or share them on my Facebook page.
