Nothing is more humbling than realizing that God’s love for you is unbreakable, without limits and bounds. So often we envision God as an angry Father who is anxiously awaiting an opportunity to reign down His wrath on us each time we violate His law. And while the wrath of God is undoubtedly real, so is His undying and uncompromising love for you.
In Romans 8:35, Paul asks, “Who can separate us from the love of Christ?” In verses 38 and 39, he answers his own question by saying, “For I am convinced neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Isn’t it amazing that Jesus loves us despite anything we have ever or will ever do? Jesus is the bridge that connects us to God. So while our sin can keep us from the presence of God, the blood of Jesus covers our sin and enables us to walk boldly into God’s presence and His love.
I don’t know about you, but my sins are enumerable. They’re too many to count. I love the Passion for Christ Movement ex t-shirts because they resonate with who am. I am an ex-liar, an ex-hypocrite, ex-fornicator. I could go on, and on, and on. Amazingly, even while I was in the midst of my lies, hypocrisy, fornication, etc., God still loved me and He still chose me. God knows exactly who I am good, bad and indifferently and despite my flaws and sins, God has not changed His mind about me. He still wants to give me everything He promised me. Nowhere else can we find this kind of unconditional love. Today, simply spend time thanking God for loving you despite the fact that you are you.
