“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

Fear is a universal crippler. No matter what gender, race, ethnicity, or religion you are, fear has the ability to stop you dead in your tracks.  You can be in the midst of doing something great, about to make a move that will change your life, or about to allow yourself to fall in love for the first time in a long time…then fear shows up. Fear interrupts your life, places doubt in your heart, and even causes you to disregard the plans of greatness. Fear can imprison you and turn your world upside down.

The key to overcoming fear is embracing God’s love. God is your loving Father who only wants the best for His child. He wouldn’t set you up for failure. So as long as you are embracing Him and following His plan, there is no reason for you to fear. I know it’s easier said than done. God has given me a huge vision, but embracing God’s vision means interrupting some of the stability in my life. That’s scary to me. What if I end up homeless? What if I can’t feed my kid? No lights? No gas? No food? All of these are realistic circumstances. Fortunately, God’s provision and care is greater than the circumstances of this world. If I follow His lead and obey His Word, fear will have no place in my life. God has insured my success.

So whenever you become uneasy about what God has given you to do, be sure to mediate Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Once this scripture becomes a part of your very essence, fear no longer has place in your life.
